CARDS Recycling & Disposal announces acquisition of Bernice Sanitation

FAYETTEVILLLE, AR (Aug 12, 2020) — CARDS Recycling and Disposal today announced the purchase of Bernice Sanitation. Based in Fairland, Oklahoma, Bernice Sanitation is a local waste and recycling company that hauls residential, commercial, and industrial waste streams for customers in the greater Grove, Oklahoma, area. The company’s operating footprint includes five counties across northeastern Oklahoma and southwest Missouri — Craig, Delaware, Mays, Ottawa, and McDonald Counties.

“We are excited for the opportunity to serve these wonderful communities,” said Dan Christensen, founder and president of CARDS. “The waste disposal and recycling services provided by Bernice Sanitation fits our model perfectly and we are proud to bring the Bernice customers and employees into the CARDS family.”

CARDS will acquire all Bernice assets, employees and contracts, which will operate under the CARDS brand. CARDS will also take over seven municipal waste removal contracts as well as the transfer station in Fairland, Oklahoma.

This acquisition adds over 15,000 customers to CARDS’ expanding footprint, according to Christensen.

This is the eighth acquisition for CARDS in past 24 months. Other acquisitions have included 4D, Best Trash, R&S, and The Trashmann.

According to Wayne Crouse, Bernice Sanitation owner, the acquisition is a great opportunity for the communities they serve.

“There are very few businesses I would trust to care of our customers in these communities,” Crouse said. “But I believe CARDS will continue our history of reliable pickup and personalized customer service.”

The acquisition closed on July 1, 2020. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
